FlashRunnerHS - High-Speed Edition: The Latest Innovation from SMH
FlashRunner HS is a distributed programming system consisting of a central control unit and up to 8 external active programming modules (Active Modules) connected via USB Type-C cables, with cable lengths up to 3m.
Central Control Unit

The FlashRunner HS central control unit inherits the host interfaces of other models
• 10/100/1000 Ethernet LAN interface
• USB/Serial interface
• ATE parallel control interface
Compared to FR2.0, the FlashRunner HS features a powerful architecture with an 800MHz dual-core ARM Cortex A9, 1GB RAM and 256GB eMMC, enabling better handling of large programming files.
The programming modules feature a compact design to be placed as close to the target board as possible. The digital signals connecting to the target board are integrated in the peripheral programming modules to avoid compromising signal integrity and to ensure high communication frequencies.

WorkBench Operation Interface

Universal Programming Module

The universal programming module mainly programs MCU, MCP and Nor Flash. Supports 1, 2 and 4-channel parallel programming.
eMMC Programming Module

The eMMC programming module supports programming eMMC devices with bus widths up to 8 bits. Supports 1 and 2-channel parallel programming.
NAND Flash Programming Module

The NAND Flash programming module supports programming NAND Flash devices with bus widths up to 16 bits.
Plug-in Relay Isolation Barrier Module

The plug-in relay isolation barrier module is an additional daughter board that functions as a relay isolation barrier. It can be plugged directly into the programming module or mounted on an optional auxiliary connector. Through programming system commands, it allows selecting between programming module input or auxiliary connector input.
Connection Cables

The central control unit connects to the programming modules via USB Type-C cables. The cables support the USB 3.1 Gen 1 SuperSpeed standard, transmitting data signals and power to the peripheral modules. Maximum supported cable length is up to 3m.
The cables feature threaded locking connectors (single screw facing the central control unit, dual screws facing the programming module).
Applications
FlashRunner HS provides optimal solutions for the following application scenarios
Pre-Programming Machines
Programming modules can be plugged directly into multi-socket PCB boards, programming up to 32 target chips in parallel simultaneously. For eMMC, up to 16 target chips can be programmed with data transfer speeds up to 60MB/s.
Electronic Fixtures
Programming modules can be placed compactly inside fixtures. FlashRunner's highly modular configuration allows customized solutions based on actual application scenarios, as long as the programming module can be mounted in the fixture. This not only makes customer solutions more efficient and cost-effective, but once the programming module is installed and certified in the electronic fixture, it remains fixed throughout the entire project.
ICT and FCT Test Equipment
Like all SMH programming systems, the FlashRunner HS is easy to operate and highly efficient, meeting customer requirements.
Project Example
The FlashRunner HS can mix and match all programming module models to meet combinations of different chip type programming. The programming system configuration can be set up in the SMH Workbench GUI software with simple operation. The total number of supported programming channels depends on the programming modules connected. If all GP-4 programming modules are used, the FlashRunner HS can program 32 target chips in parallel.
